Canada Day in Vancouver
Posted on 24. Jun, 2008 by BCXS in BC, Events, Vancouver
Celebrate Canada’s 141st birthday at Canada Place in Vancouver! Tuesday, July1st (ofcourse!) 10am to 7pm and admission is FREE.
Start your Canada Day with the scenic 10k HBC Run for Canada, beginning minutes away from Canada Place. Registration starts at 6:30am and the run starts at 8am.
With four indoor and outdoor entertainment stages and all Canadian bands (including one of our favorites 54-40), all day long, it’s bound to be an entertaining day.
This year’s high impact program includes aerial feats by our own Canadian Forces, jaw dropping tricks by West Coast Acrobatics and gravity defying stunts by the extreme Ski & Snowboard Show. Showcasing incredible musical entertainment are Canada’s own 54-40, Destino Tenors, BC’s Karen Lee Batton, Dal Richards, Kinship and more.
Fireworks start at 10:30pm and is a perfect way to end daytime Canada Day celebrations at Canada Place, in West Vancouver and North Vancouver and throughout the surrounding communities.

Granville Island also has Canada Day celebrations going on. They’ll have a parade, various activities and lots and lots of delicious food.
Speaking of parades, the North Shore Canada Day Parade is huge. The event begins with breakfast being served at 8:00am on Grand Boulevard Park at 14th Street with proceeds going to a local charity. The parade begins at 10:00 at 13th Street & Grand Boulevard and proceeds down 13th Street to Lonsdale, turning north on Lonsdale. This is the best viewing area as the reviewing stand is set up at 14th Street & Lonsdale. At 17th Street the parade again heads west where it will end at Mahon Park. There are more Canada Day celebrations in North Vancouver at Waterfront Park.
West Vancouver is also running a full gauntlet of Canada Day activities at Ambleside Park.
