On Sunday, October 18, the Vancouver International Writers Festival presents a special tribute to Alice Munro. Five internationally-acclaimed authors Richard Ford, Alistair MacLeod, Amit Chaudhuri, Joan London, Elizabeth Strout (the 2009 winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction) pay tribute to Ms. Munro. Eleanor Wachtel host of CBC Radio’s Writers &#38; Company will moderate the event. <br /><br />
Alice Munro’s latest collection of short stories is titled Too Much Happiness. Her 13 previous books have won countless national and international awards, including two Giller Prizes. In June 2009 she was awarded the Man Booker International Prize for her outstanding contribution to literary fiction. <br /><br />
