I know we are a bit late but the Global ComedyFest is back for a 5th exciting year, bringing 10 nights, 40 shows and thousands of laughs to Vancouver September 12 – 20, 2008 to a variety of venues throughout the city.
Produced by Destination Funny, The Global ComedyFest is presenting a line up of talent which includes a partnership with the VSO for an exclusive evening of “LAUGHTER AND REFLECTION WITH CAROL BURNETT” – A Conversation with Carol where the Audience Asks the Questions. This beloved entertainer is in Vancouver for one very special appearance on September 18th which is so popular, it is already sold out.
The 10 days include an array of some of the most popular comedic talents around. Take your pick from – HARD ‘N PHIRM, one of America’s hottest musical comedy duos, well-known Janeane Garofalo, Andy Ritcher who’s appeared on Conan O’Brien Show and Semi-Pro, Paul Rust, named one of top 10 comics to watch by Variety Magazine, Tim Meadows, Paul F. Tompkins, Todd Barry, Reggie Watts, ASSSSCAT, Comedy Death Ray, British Invasion at Lafflines, Rock Comedy with Brian Posehn and many more. There really is something for everyone – September really is a time to get your hahas off!
Also included is an Intimate Night of Comedy with some Canada’s greatest comedians at the Media Club. Developed in the style of MTV’s Unplugged, there will be limited seats sold to experience comedy in an insanely intimate environment. The show will be recorded for a national XM Radio broadcast.
Always a sell out is the Best of the Fest, hosted by award-winning stand up comedian, Ron James, who will wrap up the festival on Saturday, Sept. 20th on the Westjet Mainstage at The Centre for the Performing Arts.
