Cornucopia: Whistler’s Celebration of Wine and Food presents a delectable five days of wine, food and tasting events. November 6-10th!

Celebrate gourmet food coupled with fine wine in one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Sit in on fascinating seminars with wineries, critics and wine professionals, or attend Winemaker Dinners where sumptuous multi-course meals are paired with a variety of wines. Swirl, sniff, & sip a selection of vintages at various tasting events, take a Chef’s Trip to the Farm, or make the scene at our renowned after-parties and brunches. Cornucopia brings Whistler to life with a feast of food and wine festivities to capture your every sense.

Festival Highlights – a quick overview of some premiere events:

House Party – Aperitif a la Francaise – In 2008 Wines of France will turn Cornucopia’s traditional House Party on its head with the “Aperitif a la Francaise” , a fabulous reception of all things French. This internationally infused event will include French-inspired arts of all sorts, from canapés to entertainment to delicious aperitif-style beverages from France poured from the custom-built ‘Boutique French Wine Bar’, proudly represented by established wine industry professional John Clerides of Marquis Wine Cellars. Crush Premiere – The party to be part of – the Grand Gala Tasting. So popular the event is now held on two nights – take your pick! Choose the Crush Premiere on Friday November 7 featuring exclusive wine tastings or indulge at Crush II on Saturday November 8. Viking Stage – Our good friends at Viking are returning again in 2008 to offer up a series of deliciously educational tasting demonstrations aptly named the Viking Stage Series. You won’t want to miss these new and improved seminars that will tempt the senses. The Viking Stage will host outstanding guest chefs and authors touching on topics from Indian Inspired bites to Organic delights to insatiable sustainable seafood. This full working kitchen will set up shop in the Grand Foyer of the Conference Centre from Friday Nov. 7th – Sun. Nov. 9th. Get your tickets now before they get eaten up.

Regional Walkabout - Take a trip around the world – Sniff, Sip and Swirl some of the best wines the world has to offer over two afternoons at this Regionally focused event! Join Portugal, South Africa & California as they host a casual walkabout tasting showcasing new vintages and award winning wines. This is a rare opportunity to meet vintners and explore the wines from these fascinating winemaking mecca’s from across the globe. Hosted in the elegant surrounds of the world class Fairmont Chateau Whistler, the afternoon wine tastings will be accompanied by a sampling of appetizers inspired by these acclaimed regions.

Cornucopia Mini Tasting Series – Six mini wine sessions are being offered on Sunday November 9 for those looking for a snapshot of select themes or regions.
