Vancouver Triathlon 2008
The Triathlon World Championships is the flagship event of the ITU (International Triathlon Union) and will be held this week in Vancouver on June 3rd through 8th and comprises of several races. The elite races are the final qualifying races for the Canadian Triathlon Olympic team for Beijing. An estimated 2600 athletes from 40+ countries will be competing.
Whether you come out for the Triathlon Expo to see the Athletic Wear, Sports Equipment and Health Food vendors during the week, the kids triathlon on Friday, the AWAD Athletes competing on Saturday, the best of the amateurs on Sunday, or even to cheer on the elite Olympians themselves who will rave
on Sunday, the 2008 Vancouver BG Triathlon World Championships are not to be missed. It’s free for all spectators, so come out and support the world’s best.
The 2008 Vancouver BG Triathlon World Championships will affect traffic and parking in the areas between Stanley Park and Burrard Street, and between Robson Street and English Bay. Road closures will be in affect at different times of the day for each day of the event and leading up to the event. Some bus routes will be affected.

3pm – Opening Ceremonies – Venue: Engish Bay
6:45am – AG & AWAD Olympic Distance Triathlon World Championship – Venue: English Bay
7am – Under 23 Women Triathlon World Championship – Venue: English Bay
10am – Under 23 Men Triathlon World Championship – Venue: English Bay
1pm – Elite Women Triathlon World Championship – Venue: English Bay
4pm – Elite Men Triathlon World Championship – Venue: English Bay
6:15pm – Under 23 & Elite Medal Ceremonies – Venue: English Bay
7:30pm – Closing Ceremonies – Venue: GM Place
